10.00 (excellent) /anime/ Amazing. A bit confusing at first, but, ultimately, everything pieces together perfectly. Great characterization too.

10.00 (excellent) /manga/ One of my favorite mangas of all time. Best Clamp work to date, in my opinion.

Fullmetal Alchemist

Last Updated: Oct 30, 2009

10.00 (excellent) /anime & manga/ Both are great in their own ways, despite the fact that the anime completely diverged from the manga. A series that definitely, without a doubt, deserves its popularity.

10.00 (excellent) /anime/ This series earns the award for "most misleading title of anime"! A beautiful, psychological anime.

10.00 (excellent) /anime & manga/ Anime ends too abruptly, but I am completely in love with the manga. If you can read only one mystery manga in your lifetime, READ THIS ONE.

The Law of Ueki

10.00 (excellent) /anime & manga/ Personal preference. In my opinion, one of the best "FRIENDSHIP" shonens that has ever hit the earth.

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time

10.00 (excellent) /anime/ Oku Hanako soundtrack is one of the best parts of the movie. The other "best parts" are the movie itself. If you can watch only one shoujo anime in your lifetime, WATCH THIS ONE.

10.00 (excellent) /manga/ The beginning of my obsession with Urasawa. Great suspense.

10.00 (excellent) /manga/ The sports series that everyone has been talking about! And, one that staunchly deserves its reputation! It was a hell of a ride, and I'm sure even non-sports manga fans would enjoy it. In other words, if you can read only one sports manga in your lifetime, READ THIS ONE.

10.00 (excellent) /manga/ Immensely popular in Japan, but why not in English-speaking countries? Awesome manga. Probably my #1 favorite ongoing shonen manga.

Tokyo Babylon

Seen: completely

Last Updated: May 08, 2011

10.00 (excellent) /Manga/ Started out a bit slow, but it eventually turned into a pretty nice read. Subaru/Seishirou fangirling aside, Tokyo Babylon makes some really nice points about society as a whole, all without sounding too preachy. Definitely among Clamp's best.

Bokurano

10.00 (excellent) /manga/ Beautiful and magnificent and heart-rending. Mohiro Kitoh certainly does not disappoint.

10.00 (excellent) /anime/ One of the best, if not /the/ best anime to come out in recent memory. Everything about this series was perfect. I can't actually think of a single thing I disliked from it. It's everything I could have wanted from a series, and even some things I didn't even know I wanted. Absolutely wonderful.

Zettai Karen Children

9.75 (excellent) /manga/ Surprisingly consistent in its delivery of fairly good chapters. And, is it me or does Minamoto seem to get hotter every chapter...?

9.75 (excellent) /anime/ I demand a third season!

Are You Alice

Seen: partially

Last Updated: May 09, 2011

9.75 (excellent) /manga/ The only reason this is not rated a perfect ten is because it is incomplete. Honestly, the best Alice in Wonderland adaption I have ever laid eyes on.

PSYCHO-PASS

Last Updated: Mar 23, 2014

9.75 (excellent) /anime/ I love this. It was basically everything I wanted from an anime with this premise: great character development, well-developed plot, and a nicely wrapped up ending. It was just a wonderful experience, and I can't wait for the second season.

9.50 (excellent) /manga/ Ah, I wish this had been longer; it was an awesome journey while it lasted, though.

Last Exile

Seen: completely

Last Updated: Sep 30, 2012

9.50 (excellent) /anime/ Starts out slowly but eventually becomes something so engrossing and spectacular that I literally could not stop watching. Both the characters and the worldbuilding were absolutely amazing, and it's ending does not disappoint in the least. Now, the sequel, on the other hand...

Shinigami no Ballad

Seen: partially

Last Updated: Oct 30, 2009

9.50 (excellent) /manga & anime & novel/ The pacing of the anime is slow as heck; it's much better suited as a novel.

9.50 (excellent) /anime & manga/ Movie didn't really do anything for me. Manga was amazing though. (Yumeka Sumomo <3)

Pandora Hearts

9.50 (excellent) /manga/ Pretty good so far. Beautiful art.

X

Seen: partially

Last Updated: Jul 26, 2010

9.50 (excellent) /manga/ Like Tokyo Babylon, X started out a bit slow, but eventually grew to fit its role as "end of the world epic". And, also like Tokyo Babylon, X brings out some good points about the world and society without sounding preachy. The dynamics between the characters are also very nice.

Sket Dance

Last Updated: May 09, 2011

9.50 (excellent) /anime & manga/ One of my favorite shounen comedies. The best thing about it? It never forgets it's a comedy, even when there's drama. Manga > Anime.

The Record of a Fallen Vampire

9.50 (excellent) /manga/ Best combination of fantasy and sci-fi I have ever seen in manga.

9.50 (excellent) /manga & game/ Prepared to give this a perfect ten once I get around to beating the game.

Alive: The Final Evolution

Seen: completely

Last Updated: Mar 23, 2014

9.50 (excellent) /manga/ An incredibly bittersweet yet hopeful look at the meaning of life and death. Made all the more poignant by the fact that the mangaka wrote the final chapters on his literal deathbed.

Gin no Saji

Seen: partially

Last Updated: Mar 23, 2014

9.50 (excellent) /anime & manga/ Arakawa is a genius. A series that manages to be so utterly charming and relatable that there's really not much I can say about it, other than: I think I might like this even more than FMA, oops. (The anime adaptation isn't bad either.)

Duklyon

9.25 (very good) /manga/ Hilarity at its best. Definitely not one of Clamp's best (or most serious), but Kentarou hitting on Takashi makes everything better.

Star Driver

Seen: completely

Last Updated: Mar 23, 2014

9.25 (very good) /anime/ An incredibly interesting mecha anime directed and scripted by a team that has never done mecha anime. I really enjoyed it, and it was chalked full of symbolism, all the while doing some really interesting things with typical mecha cliches.

Gatchaman Crowds

Seen: completely

Last Updated: Mar 23, 2014

9.25 (very good) /anime/ Gatchaman Crowds was incredibly fun and enjoyable to watch during its run. It was vibrant, creative, and energetic with its direction, consistently pulling out interesting ideas and concepts that the audience can think on, or not--it never pressures or preaches. It's really one of those series that, after you had time to think about it at its conclusion, simply gets better and better with each reconsideration. Can't wait for the second season.

Mirai Nikki

Last Updated: May 08, 2011

9.00 (very good) /manga/ I would have given this manga a perfect ten, if it wasn't for that travesty of an ending. One of the few times an ending has soured an entire series for me.

Black Cat
